Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Payment Application Specialist that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:





  1. Post all payments electronic or manual.

  2. Upload all payments to EPIC from PNC.

  3. Adjust payments and credits accordingly.

  4. Maintain good customer service when discussing patient account information face-to-face and over the phone.

  5. Post all personal, insurance and liability payments from Remittance and EOBs to appropriate accounts with minimum errors.

  6. Apply manual payments and auto payments to accounts for payor types of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurances.

  7. Analyze EOB information, including co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, contractual adjustments, denials and more to very accuracy of patient balances.

  8. Add appropriate ANSI denial codes and comments to assure all necessary appeals and post payment follow up can take place.

  9. Investigate the source of unidentified payments to ensure they are applied to appropriate accounts. If necessary, will contact the sender to clarify where the payment should be posted.

  10. Reconcile shortage on both paper and electronic EOBs to determine proper allowance and correct write off.

  11. Assist in updating the Direct Deposit Daily.

  12. Assist in performing comparison of downloaded files to the Direct Deposit and correct any discrepancies.

  13. Assist in setting up Electronic Remittance Advices (ERA) for Commercial, Medicaid, HMOs, and Medicare payors.

  14. Assist in running and balancing credit cards daily.

  15. Assist in performing check deposits.

  16. Contact patients, insurance, or third-party administrators when clarification of information is needed to successfully post payment.

  17. Report all Medicare credits quarterly to Medicare on appropriate form and supplies all supporting documentation.

  18. Work on recoupment accounts to settle.

  19. Comply with the Sixteenth Street TB Control Plan including PPD testing.

  20. Perform other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:





  1. Experience in EPIC preferred.

  2. Experience in Healthcare required.

  3. High school diploma or GED.

  4. Advanced oral and written communication skills.

  5. Ability to review and analyze data.

  6. Working knowledge of computers and office applications software.

  7. Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
